TOP VALLEY This project involved the complete demolition of 143 homes on 3 streets on the Top Valley Estate in Bestwood, Nottingham, as part of the current major Regeneration Scheme by Nottingham City Homes. Licensed Asbestos Removal was carried out in over 65% ot the properties, phased in such a way to enable demolition works to commence relatively early. Given the nature of the construction of the houses, a limited soft-strip was carried out prior to mechanical demolition. A large proportion of the houses were badly affected by arson, limiting the strip-out works further. There was very little reclaimable salvage, with the exception of approx 12,000 tonnes of crushed material which was left on site for the developer, Lovell Partnership, to incorporate into the new-build. click on an image below to enlarge
