COLTON STREET This project involved the demolition of a substantial 4-storey reinforced concrete framed office block in Leicester City Centre. Initial enabling works consisted of demolishing a (de-listed) former manufacturing premises, and Licensed Asbestos Removal to the office block itself. Once the enabling works, (and an extensive soft-strip), had been carried out, a 21 metre high-reach excavator with multi-processor was utilised to demolish the structure. The neighbouring properties included a 19th Century graveyard, Charles Street Police Headquarters and a brand new apartment block, so extreme consideration was applied at all times. The materials arising from the works were processed on site and utilised on an adjacent project. |
